Thermopower of a material (Seebeck effect)

Formula

Thermopower of a material (Seebeck effect) formula
S
the thermopower of a material
DeltaT
the temperature difference between the two ends of a material
DeltaV
the thermoelectric voltage at the terminals

Formula description

The thermopower or Seebeck coefficient of a material measures the magnitude of an induced thermoelectric voltage in response to a temperature difference across that material, and the entropy per charge carrier in the material.
