Entropy change for a reaction (Hess' law)

Formula

Entropy change for a reaction (Hess' law) formula
DeltaSreaction
entropy change for a single reaction (Hess\' law)
DeltaSproducts
total actual entropies for products
DeltaSreactants
total actual entropies for reactants

Formula description

Hess`s law states that the energy change for any chemical or physical process is path independent, only the initial and final states being of importance. The concepts of Hess`s law can be expanded to changes in entropy. Entropy can be measured as an absolute value, not relative to those of the elements in their reference states (as with ?H and ?G); one simply uses the actual entropies for products and reactants.
