Capacitance in a capacitor (given electric potential energy and electric charge)

Formula

Capacitance in a capacitor (given electric potential energy and electric charge) formula
C
capacitance
U
electrostatic potential energy
Q
electrical charge

Formula description

The potential energy stored in a body or in a system due to its position in a force field or due to its configuration. Electric potential energy, or electrostatic potential energy, is a potential energy and it is associated with the configuration of a particular set of point charges within a defined system. it is used to describe the potential energy in systems with electric fields that change with time (time variant). In general, electrostatic potential energy is used to describe the potential energy in systems with electric fields that do not change with time (time invariant). In electromagnetism and electronics, capacitance is the ability of a capacitor to store energy in an electric field.
